honestly this type of over the top powers and fighting are very rarely done right in live action its just looks clunky never as good honestly i will pass that one and keep on watching the donghua
Couldnt agree more, if only they will stop their live action productions of BTTH 2 and Douluo Continent 2, it will be great lol
Friends of mine asked me why did I recommend them to watch them
I replied, donghuas not live action
Oh....
With the right people and production it can..ever night season 1 fight scenes were godly
It is not the fights that made S1 great. S1 had a great deal in terms of Han Li character general evolution and I find this season much too slow and a bit disappointing in this regard.
All donghua has it's ups and down, and everyone's preferences and enjoyment differs from one another
I do understand where you are coming from since the novel itself is very very slow and very very boring even though there are some differences between the donghua and novel, it is still following the novel's main storyline, I had to skip a few chapters at a time when I first read it, and the second time I read it, I found it was very very boring lol
But in comparison to the novel, the donghua's changes made the whole story more interesting
For example Nangong Wan
Apparently this season will have more episodes than last season, so hang in there
Whoops... I removed my question about the manhua, since checking in my history confirmed that I already had this discussion with you ;-)
It is easy to forget lol, sometimes I forget I told the same person the same thing a while ago
btth ?
that fat guy did the matrix flip
Under the right Director, budget, actors/actresses with passion & dedication, Live Action adaptations could be pulled off. Just like Bleach, Journey to the West, Yin Yang Master &
Double World...they are all half decent but would had been much better if they had been more faithful following according to the original storyline instead of acting smart coming up with their own creation changing the story
Dont get me wrong, I agree with your statement with good budget, director, actors, screenwriters it can be done, but sadly for some reason whether it is due to Chinese censorship or whatever the recent Chinese live action dramas been really bad, and even if they are good or great, it doesnt really resemble the original source or it doesnt follow the source faithfully (example, Joy of Life and Sword Snow Stride)
Yea sadly for whatever reason, today's remake/reboot of classic are getting bad to worse as compared to the past like HK's great classics Condor Heroes, Dragon Sabre & Heavenly Sword, Tian Long Ba Pu, even Hollywood remakes of Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, Alien, Terminator etc etc were really bad, as if theres no more decent script writers or Directors with a brain that could tell a fathfull adaptation or a compelling, logical & coherent story anymore...
I have a question, when it comes to adaptations of source material, I've heard many say they prefer seeing different versions but keep the core of the source material, while others say they want adaptations that follow the source to the letter with very little changes. Well, is it fair to say what is the point of adapting the source if it'll be the same thing you've already read/saw; or is it just as entertaining seeing it for the first time as it was when read for the first time?? I can agree to both sides of arguments, but I do wonder if there should be material in the adaptation that's brand new and gives a fresh feel surprising even the source readers.
Would you be upset with the studio if they change things in the adaptation, not for the worse but it makes it even better and gives new material too or should they stick with the original no matter what?? With "The Promised Neverland S02" I understand they butchered it changing too much around, skipping events and leaving characters out + more, unfortunately that's a huge disappointing example where they screwed up terribly causing a potential top tier series turn into a devastating plane crash, a total mess smh. They should've left that alone if they were going to butcher it, though it was a fresh idea that could've been great if done right, which makes me think of the question above.
Exactly, its such a simple common sense like if you love Ramen Soup from a Japanese restaurant in Japan, dont just create another Ramen soup restaurant with exactly the same name but butcher it and change the ingredients, the sauces or the method of cooking it totally with Rice Soup instead of Ramen and then expect people to love the shit you tried to create
It is up to the viewer on what they like or not, if they prefer to see an adaption that is totally different from the source material it is again their choice but what is the point of the studio buying up the rights for the source material and changing it so much that it is barely recognizable, might as well save the money and recreate the live action into whatever they want. Some adaptions works for example, Martial Universe, Joy of Life and Sword Stride Snow, and some dont, Doupo Cangqiong, Ze Tian Ji (Fighter of Destiny), and of course Soul Land And before anyone says oh by they were highly rated on mydramalist, dont care, those reviewers were fangirling the male main actors, I am talking about the story, not about how handsome the actors are and how much drool, viewer based their rating.
Why adapt it to how the source material? Well when you read a novel, you imagine it the way you want it, dress the character you want to, colour it the way you want, seeing in live action isnt the same as imagining it, otherwise why go to movies when you can imagine the story yourself when you read the movie's synopsis and the poster?
I am not a must follow the source material 100% person, I enjoyed Joy of Life, Sword Snow Stride, The Untamed (Mo Dao Zu Shi) Martial Universe was passable, I couldnt stand the slo-mo effects and the female lead, but that is a personal opinion, there are other adaptations that I like as well, Eternal Love 2017, they made so many changes that a lot of novel fans were complaining (mainly they removed the boylove scenes) Mo Dao Zu Shi is another good adaptation, though they removed the obvious boylove scenes, they still retained the elements of it, the shy quick glance at each other, the silent stare, the slow hand movements towards each other then stopping. it was one of the best adaption I have seen.
Live action Cowboy Bebop for example, followed the source material closely, do I like the live action? No, and this is my personal feeling, it just didnt feel right, I struggled to finish watching the entire series, it felt dull and cheesy but when I watched the anime right after I had no problem at all, so following the source material might not always work
As long as the story, acting, special effects if any, and pacing is good, I will be happy, if they dont have this element then not so happy, whether they follow the source material or not doesnt bother me, people might have different opinions about following source material, they might even disagree with me, but that is everyone's choice and they are entitled to it as long as it doesnt interfere with another person's enjoyment of watching the show
Am saying if it like the live action soul land or BTTH Amma be pissed..they fucked up tan San character so much change all of there personality and made it just a dull drama...they could have just made they own drama and name it some other name... cause that was in no way soul land...
Got some bad news for you, they are going to do the next season of BTTH live action lol
Who are the actors?
Director - Yang Yang (directed Ever Night 1 and 2)
Dylan Kuo - Han Li (acted in Ever Night, looks like a younger Abe Hiroshi)
Ireine Song - Nangong Wan (acted in Ever Night as well)
Sun Zu Jun - Unknown role
Wang Rui Zi - Unknown role (Miss plastic surgery to look like Fan Bingbing)
Overall I am not thrilled with the casting, think I will stick with the donghua
Hmm, rather have another actress for Nangong Wan. And there's a comment in "My Drama List . (com)" that says it's just the animation and being fooled.
I have to praise this subtitle author. These subtitles are insanely good!
Anyone noticed who subbed this? I must have overlooked it.
I dont think it is kurina, myanimelive or naruldonghua, those subbers usually have their names plastered on the corner of the screen or somehow would advertise their subbing group. I could be wrong and they might have forgotten to add their name, but it doesnt feel like the them, besides at this point of time they havent put it up on their site yet
One thing's for sure: it's definitely not myanimelive - their subs are always utter garbage.
Mhm, the subs are the same as the ones on their official bilibili youtube channel, well the early ones anyway, I havent watched the later ones, so it makes me think it is coming from their paid subbers or the very least the ones who subs for them
Most likely, it is coming from google translate without any editing.
Nope, they were good though.
"Forget it...you should just die." 😂💪🏻
haha he got revenge for his side chick Ms. Mo family or whatever
Aha, he was ruthless!!
Wow! Great Battle scenes. More of it next episode.
the fight scenes are so well done in this series its really perfection and the translations are the best I've seen,as someone else was saying how good they were and no one knew who did them but whoever it is,keep up the good work you're doing an amazing job
Most epic battle of all seasons so far!
Actually the most epic fight was when Han Li locked himself in his room to avoid Nanggong Wan in case she breaks into his room :P, absolutely a win for Nanggong Wan lol
lol, touché
damm such a legendary fight!
i really appreciate the loyalty of those brothers
This how you fight boss quest. spamming everything you've got! xD
lol
wow that fight was awesome!!
I like these Four Stooges Brothers! I hope they don't kill them off!
Damn, the MC has become scary, he's a real threat now and putting fear in cultivators hearts aha.
Wow, that was a dope fight, another cool episode for the history books!!
Good way to start my morning but that cliff hanger 😅
Oh wow, a donghua that you actually like, must be an exceptional series if you're impressed and praising it lol. This is phenomenal though.
I really love this one
If Han Li has something that can be considered plot armor then it is his knack of picking up treasure from his numerous adventures! The numerous treasures and techniques he gets from his enemies every time he fights will be the deciding factor in his road to immortality.
The four brothers are the real MVP here lol
17:31 Hunter x Hunter 2011 anyone?
I knew silver surfer was an immortal cultivator
Wow this came early to THIS site
On another note, seems they are making a live action of Fanren Xiu Chuan is being made, I hope it will be just as good as this donghua, otherwise if it is like Soul Land or BTTH live action then not going to watch it
Anyway another epic fight, more more more!!
